Mazda has announced the opening of a new plant for the manufacture of engines in its own power plant of Mazda Powertrain Manufacturing Co., Ltd (MPMT) in the Thai province of Chonburi . With the aim of improving the entire production system in Thailand of engines, transmissions and cars, Mazda has invested 22.1 billion yen for make the factory. And increase the production capacity of the existing MPMT engine assembly line from 30,000 to 100,000 units per year . Later, the plant will begin production of the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 engine. That will be supplied to production facilities in Malaysia and Vietnam as well as in Thailand.
